Shelby Stewart, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Stewart holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University. She has been working at the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center since 2022 as a Staff Psychologist specializing in work with dual diagnosis populations at the residential treatment level. She has experience assessing and treating mood disorders, severe mental illness, PTSD, substance use disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, attention deficits, and cognitive and learning disorders. She has experience in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

Dr. Stewart has authored peer-reviewed articles, a book chapter, presented several poster presentations at national conferences, and provided clinical didactic training for pre-doctoral psychology interns and psychiatric residents. She has supervised post-doctoral residents, pre-doctoral psychology interns, and psychiatry residents at the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center. 

Dr. Stewart is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Social Skills Training for Severe Mental Illness. She also has received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD. She holds licenses for practice in Louisiana and Florida.
